Who is SHE?

Like other boudoir session champs, my gal here braved some super humid and hot weather to help me create unbelievable portrait images. You'll have to wait for another couple of weeks for me to reveal the full image, but let me tell you, they're worth the wait. With eyes like ocean waves, you can't help but be captured by her gaze. Sorry guys, she's married. Stay tuned...:)

artbyharry.com

Art has a different affect on everyone depending on the person, the art's medium, subject matter, or even location of display. I don't usually find myself innately moved by a painting on first glance, but Harry Underwood's pieces are an exception. His art is both nostalgic and contemporary, both serious and whimsical. Harry is quickly becoming a heavy hitter in the artistic arena with collectors like Sheryl Crow, Bill Bennett, the President of Warner Bros. Records, Michelle Branch, and Michael Kalish. Calling Nashville, TN home, his roots extend to the same branches as mine in South Florida and the Miami area. Each piece seems to speak to a different realm of my persona and I love it! Check him out and contact him for purchase. I'm sure you will find your own sense of self in his work. Many kudos to you Harry!

www.boobydooby.com

This shoot was a fantastic opportunity to indulge in an "Anthropologie-ish" type shoot. I love chunky jewelry and comfortable, funky clothes that speak well for themselves. Well, the girls at Booby Dooby, an organic and natural dyes clothing company, have got it figured out. Their clothes make a statement figuratively and literally with inspiring quotes from legends like Ghandi, Bob Marley, and John Lennon. Check out their line (and some fun photography) at www.boobydooby.com; you can also purchase any of their shirts, tanks, lounge pants, etc. at various boutiques and specialty stores in the South. Have a super dooby day! xo

Capturing the Moment

Alas, I missed my posting yesterday, but I will make it up to you by posting one of my favorite shots from a wedding I shot recently. Clover and Michael are an absolutely gorgeous couple and their ceremony was no exception. I love the way the sunlight catches in her veil and how his arm tattoos add a bit of edge to a super sweet and soft moment. Looking at the photo almost makes me feel the intensity of the day through their eyes and hearts. Congratulations newlyweds!

Where's Waldo?

Something about this wall was intriguing from the beginning, but as I sat with camera in hand, preparing to capture it's texture and color, my Waldo look-alike strutted across my field of view. Perfect timing for a quick motion shot with interest. It's another manic Monday, but thank God for my camera! xo

Mustang Sally

Nothing like a hot rod!

I love this shot for its vintage feel and suggestive yet playful nature. This would even make a great screensaver or wallpaper for anyone who likes artistic old world with a sexy flair.

Happy Birthday USA!

The fireworks display in Nashville, TN...rated number 2 in the nation last year. After last night, I would say that they are absolutely still in the running for numero uno. I'll be interested to see where they fall. This tremendous show took place on the riverfront with tens of thousands of excited onlookers. My husband and I sat perched atop my Tahoe in the parking lot of LP Field to catch the lights, and after the three hour wait, we were not disappointed with the 30 minute extravaganza. It was simply breathtaking, and the introduction to the show featured close to 1100 people joining in to sing "God Bless the USA"...brings tears to my eyes. xo

What in the World?

Isn't nature amazing?
What is this bug? They are all over Nashville, TN this time of year, but I can't say I've ever seen them in the Atlanta area. I was stopped in my tracks by his super brilliant colors, all in a tiny body that measures less than an inch. Pretty cool for science geeks like me. I would love to hear your thoughts if you've seen them before. For all I know, they may be a garden menace, but they sure are funkadelic...like the fireworks we will all be watching tonight. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

As we come into a long holiday weekend, I want to say THANK YOU for allowing me to capture your memories and be a part of your lives. Enjoy the Fourth of July, and come visit the blog...maybe I'll have something super great and festive for you! This lil' gal to the right is ready for her first Fourth of July and let me just say that I blinked and she's already almost a year old! Baby L has become such a blessing in my life as she always seems to have a smile for her adoring photographer.

Let's celebrate our independence and remember how blessed we are to live in this beautiful and grand country! Here's to you as well Baby L as we are coming up to your first birthday.

GOD BLESS THE USA! xo

boudoir (n) bü-dwär | French, meaning bedroom

One of my studio offerings is the boudoir shoot. This is a super intense shoot taking anywhere from three to four hours. The end result is either a calendar, album, archival prints, canvas', and/or multimedia DVDs of the images captured. Sometimes the shoot is done for anniversaries or birthdays, sometimes just a boost of confidence and beauty.

The idea behind these images is not to be tawdry or cheap or even super skin revealing. I always stress that photography is an art, and the boudoir shoot is a private shoot for that very purpose-creating art out of love and emotion...oh yes, and of course a lot of sexy.
